Russell Inc. provides a wide range of legal services in all areas involving real estates for owners, tenants and purchasers. The conveyancing departments at Russell Inc.is a very successful departments with a proven track record.
All matters are personally supervised by the Conveyancer, who endeavour's to build a personal relationship with each client. Due to the fact that we work closely together in a small firm, we are able to offer clients the benefits of personal attention.
We undertake to provide an excellent service to all our clients and to attend to each matter diligently and expeditiously. We maintain contact with the Purchasers and Sellers and all involved parties to ensure efficient communication and allowing all transaction to be conducted smoothly. Strong emphasis is placed on teamwork which ensures that all deadlines are met.
Services rendered by the conveyancing department include, but are not limited to, representation in the purchase, sale or financing of residential and commercial real estate, drafting of purchase and sale agreements, opening sectional title, scheme township development , subdividing, consolidating and other property related documents. The company has an excellent working relationship with the Deeds Office in King Williams Town with a daily perusal link and delivering services to the Deeds Office.
The conveyancing department has all the latest technology and is linked to all the major banks and all the Deeds Offices in South Africa.
Labour Matters
Russell Inc has a special focus on Employment Law and all issues relating to employment relationships. We ably assist clients with the drafting of individualised contracts of employment, taking into account all statutory changes in this evolving field of law. We assist both Employers and Employees in the facilitation and resolution of grievances and disputes. Our services also including chairing Disciplinary Hearings, representing both Companies and Individuals in Disciplinary Hearings, wage negotiations wt unions and assisting in avoiding strikes.
We represent clients in both the CCMA and other Bargaining Councils as well as at the Labour Court. We have extensive experience in both the Municipal and Governmental arena of Labour Law. Assistance is also provided with retrenchments, employment concerns when a business is transferred as a going concern, unfair labour practices and disputes about pensions and benefits payable on termination of employment, as well as disputes arising over polygraphs and restraints of trade.
Recoveries / Collections
Our recoveries department makes use of the latest computer software and legislative training programmes in order to provide our clients with an effective debt recovery service aimed at ensuring that debt is recovered speedily whilst keeping clients updated with detailed recovery reports.
Litigation
Our litigation department provides our clients with a well-organized and effective service in both the High Court or the Magistrates Court. We provide practical and cost effective solutions to our clients whether it be instituting or defending a claim.
Matrimonial
Russell Incorporated's family law department comprises primarily of two young, motivated attorneys, who practice solely in the field of litigation. Tammy Coutts, an attorney and notary, specialises specifically in the area of family law, which field includes divorce, custody, access, maintenance, domestic violence and marriage contracts. Tammy has experience in both practicing and lecturing family law, and is currently completing her Masters degree in the subject. Together with Lynn Small, who practices in the field of both family law and general litigation, our family law department strives to offer all clients fast and cost effective resolution to their matters and undertakes to always provide sympathetic and caring advice and assistance whilst doing so.

We are fully geared to provide our clients with a full range of advice and services relating to commercial agreements, sale agreements, establishment of Company’s and Trusts and building contracts.
Criminal Law
In matters of criminal justice, we handle selected matters. Should you find yourself charged with a crime, such as driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, assault or narcotics related charges, to name but a few, we can assist you in your defence.
Environmental Law
We can assist you with opinions and advice regarding applicable environmental legislation in an effort to ensure compliance. We can also represent you in any litigation proceedings related to this exciting facet of the law.

Notarial matters
The Company has two Notaries on its professional staff being Andre Nel and Tammy Coutts. Both of them are qualified and experienced to attend to all aspects relating to Notarial deeds and contracts being inter alia Antenuptial contracts, notarial cessions, servitudes, leases, notarial mortgage bonds, notarising documents and all other work relating to Notarial practice.
Administration of Deceased Estates
Due to the fact that Russell Inc is an established law firm we deal with a large volume of deceased estates. Our policy with deceased estates is always to deal with compassion and a high degree of professionalism with the family of the deceased. We strive to keep to deadlines and shall always try our best to finalize the estate in the shortest time possible. We have one dedicated staff member, Joan Kay, dealing with deceased Estates. Joan has been with this Company for more than ten years. Before she joined us she spent many years employed by Standard Bank in their deceased estates department. She is highly experienced in this specific field. Our senior director, Andre Nel, oversees this department. All our professional staff are geared and trained to assist clients with advice relating to their wills and the eventual preparation and signing thereof. Our policy is to always be available on short notice and also after hours to assist clients herein. Our policy is also to make it very clear to clients that they have a free choice when appointing an executor.

Motor Vehicle Accidents
If you or a breadwinner of your family dies in an accident we can assist you in claiming against the Road Accident Fund (RAF).
